ABBOTT Tenor Ukulele (1936).
Abbott ukuleles are incredibly hard to find. This example is in stunning all-original condition and complete with it’s original made-to-measure hard shaped case. It is an example of the Abbott ‘OXFORD’ long scale tenor ukulele , styled from the Gibson Tenor ukulele of the same period. ‘Sunburst’ finish on body and neck. Straight neck & no wear to frets or to fingerboard. Great playing action & gorgeous sound. No cracks or splits whatsoever (the line on the back of the body in the top right-hand photograph is NOT a split or a crack). Etched onto the back of the body close to the heel is the signature of ‘Jack Abbott’, with 9/5/36 etched immediately beneath it. This is clear to see in real life but was very hard to photograph.
